Vinyl Sheds and Mother-in-Laws
Vinyl sheds may be just the remedy you need if you are sick and tired of those endless regenerating mystery piles of tools, garden supplies, and other items that just seem to clutter up your living spaces. You know what I am talking about: the stuff in the garage, on the back porch, in closets, on the side of the house, and anywhere else a few extra square feet of free space might happen to be. Plus, you will get the added benefit of keeping peace with important people like your mother-in-law.
Consider this: A few weeks ago my mother-in-law was visiting us. We had done our best to straighten things up before she got here. We put things away, cleaned and vacuumed and just got ready for her visit in general. Don’t get me wrong, I love my mother-in-law, but I have learned to prepare myself when I know she will be visiting. I’ve been at this for nearly 20 years now! It’s funny how a house is never so clean as when you know you are having company. Anyway, the day came when she arrived. The first night after dinner I went out to the garage to putter around and work on some things. She walked out to see what I was doing. We chit chatted for awhile and then she asked me, “where is all the junk that used to be lying around in here?” At first I was a little shocked at her question, then I felt a grin cross my face when I realized that just days before she arrived I had purchased and set up one of those nice Duramax vinyl sheds. When I answered her, “oh, we put that stuff all out in the new shed,” I realized that I had crossed an important threshold. No longer was I a victim to my junk piles. My new shed had actually helped move the ol’ son-in-law up a notch or two. Yes! And who doesn’t want that?
In the past, I had to just endure in silence, knowing that other people (including myself) didn’t approve of how I kept my things. It never occurred to me that vinyl sheds could improve the quality of my life. Who knew? That experience with my mother-in-law made me realize that I didn’t have to go on suffering the embarrassment of being a slob. Now I had taken control. I even put up some shelving and am thinking about getting another shed to store my motorcycle.
I didn’t realize it at first, but vinyl sheds actually come in many different sizes. The one I bought is an 8′ x 8′ model, but it turns out you can actually get one from Duramax that is as big as a whopping 10 x 23.5 feet. The small one I have is placed on a prepared area in the back yard, and I just use it for garden tools, the mower, and a few odds and ends. Some of the larger sheds come with foundation kits. No matter what size you end up getting, the nice thing about vinyl sheds is that they are maintenance free. They don’t have to be painted, they don’t rust away or peel, and they are strong and easy to set up.
So, if you are like I was, and suffering the pain, frustration, and even embarrassment of not having a proper place to put your stuff, I am here to tell you that you are not doomed to suffer forever. Relief is at hand. Do yourself a big favor and get yourself one of those nice vinyl sheds on the market. You’ll be glad you followed my advice, and your mother-in-law will think you are the cat’s meow!
