My dealings with Hepa Air Purifiers
I recently made a purchase and I have to tell you, it has done wonders for my life. I’m not talking about the newest piece of fitness equipment pushed by the latest celebrity that has lost a bunch of weight. I’m talking about something so simple it isn’t even normally thought about. Breathing cleaner, purer air. Have you ever stopped to think about the probably level of air pollution in your house? Do you have pets, plants, cloth furniture, carpeting, paint, plants outside your home? There are tons of ways the air in your home can be brought well below optimum breathing quality, but one way for sure that you can do something about it is with the purchase of a HEPA air purifier.
But why did it have to be a HEPA grade air purifier instead of some standard filtration method? The answer was actually quite simple: even if you can get two cheap standard filters for the price of one cheap HEPA filter, the HEPA filter will do far more for you than the two others combined. This is because of the design specifications of a HEPA air filter. HEPA air purifiers work by forcing air through the filter in multiple currents through a system of randomly arranged fibers. The result is a filter that works remarkably efficiently, cleaning particulate matter out of the air that is actually smaller than the holes between the fibers of the filter. This means that a HEPA filter will make a much larger impact on your air quality. When it comes down to it, you get what you pay for in life. But you can get a HEPA air purifier almost anywhere for under $50.
As price goes up on items, you generally expect more for your money. Purchasing a HEPA air purifier is no different. Quality construction accounts for so much, but you need to get something good if you’re spending more right? HEPA air purifiers will be more expensive, certainly, if they can do more work. So the room size needs to be considered when purchasing a HEPA filter. Fortunately most manufacturers want to give their customers a hand and print suggested room sizes right on the boxes. Obviously small rooms don’t need big purifiers and big rooms won’t benefit nearly as much from a tiny filter.
Now like most filters, HEPA units will need to have replacement filters bought for them most times. Obviously these filters are more expensive than your standard filter and you’re going to want to save as much money as possible. One great way to do that is to include a regular filter acting as a pre-filtration system to trap the largest particles and make sure the HEPA filter is only working as hard as it has to. If your troubles include chemical pollutants from cleaning supplies or paints, models have carbon filters to help with this. Even bacteria and viruses can be quelled with a UV pre-filter to kill them as they pass through.
Buying a HEPA air purifier made a difference in my life in a matter of days. I could sleep better at night, breathed easier all day long and was in better spirits constantly. I assure you that if you put a HEPA air purifier in the room you spend the most time you’ll feel better in no time.
