Time, diet and exercise choices are the most important aspects to start your journey to a better you.
Time is something we all have but try to deny when taking up a regime. It is the easy answer as to why we fail to keep with a program. Think of all the things you do have time for that are way less crucial to a healthy future. No less than an hour every single day should be set aside for the purposes of this marathon task. Targets and figures are not a necessity at the start, just that you do your chosen exercises for this amount of time. Your body will naturally get itself ever fitter as your progress.
Diet of course goes hand in hand if you aspire not to tread water, the heavier you are the greater effort is needed to cover the exact same distance. Therefore the lighter we are within healthy parameters the more we get out of any given workout. Your efforts will be in a forward direction rather than static stomping. Consider also that you are what you eat, the energy that is called upon in times of muscular overload will not be there if your diet consists of grease, artificial sugars and saturated fats. Change to a more wholesome diet of salads, fish, lean meats and lots of vegetables to turn your body into a fuel efficient burning machine.
The type of exercise chosen has a direct link to how fit any one person can become. In this case cardiovascular routines are the order of the day. Swimming, cycling, walking, rollerskating and even dancing the night away will work your heart to a much healthier state of being. Time rather than intensity would be advised, this may go against some schools of thought but never the less the far superior way to succeed. Getting the body used to larger workouts and a sensible pace will reap larger benefits in the long run. Intensity will follow and be relative to your current levels of recuperation rather than a violent expenditure of energy that may cause serious damage that will have you sidelined indefinitely. Stick with these tried and tested methods as the best way to getting fit.
