How to Install Sliding Door Curtains
One of the most popular sliding door window treatments nowadays are sliding door curtains. The curtains are placed over the sliding windows by means of curtain rods or a double curtain rod. With the latter, you can achieve a layered look for your windows. The curtain rods are fitted to the top of the window and they can be selected based on the color of the room and the curtains. They are easy to maintain compared to other window treatments since the curtains for sliding glass doors can be easily removed from the curtain rods.
To design the curtains you will use for the sliding glass windows, simple measurements are important. The length and width of the glass windows are measured with tape and an Extra 4 inches should be added to the length so as to decide the length of the curtain rod. The curtain rod can be fitted to the top of the window by means of curtain rod holders. Holes should be drilled on the walls for fixing the rod holders. The curtain is then hung on the curtain rod and it is fixed to the holders. There should be 2 inch space between the curtain rod and the wall. This will enable easy movement of curtain on the rod.
A house can have different types of windows such as French windows, patio and French patio which are some of the newer window designs. Separate curtains and blinds are available for these windows and patio door curtains are very attractive.
Curtains for sliding glass doors should be washed regularly as curtains are drawn even when the windows and doors are kept open. Accumulation of dust and dirt will degrade the quality of the curtains. Although curtains are relatively cheaper compared to other window treatments, it is basically acceptable if you wish to replace them every year with newer ones.
